How to apply


Please apply in writing by 5pm on Tuesday, 15 May 2018 to with the following:

  • A biography for your ensemble including a photo
  • A biography for each member
  • An audio or video file you are proud of – or a url link
  • A link to your website
  • A one page summary telling us about a project that you would like to develop and perform in Stroud Green Festival 2019 – we are looking for something visionary with an approach that will attract a new and wider audience for classical music* and ideally which responds to our 2019 Festival theme of women & women composers.


If selected to perform in the final competition, please note that from 28 May to 5 June you will need to ensure

  • Your referees need to be available during this period for a phone conversation – if we cannot speak to both of them we may not be able to hear you in the competition finals
  • At least one of your group needs to be available for a mentoring meeting, skype or phone call to discuss your proposed project and opportunity to refine it ahead of the final competition
  • You will then perform in front of a small audience on the evening of Thursday 7 June
