COMPETITION & MENTORING FOR MUSICIANS

Your mentor | Our track record

Our Artistic Director, Clare Norburn, will mentor successful groups. She has helped to transform opportunities for young early music ensembles over the past 10 years championing young ensembles, especially through the Early Music Live! scheme for ensembles at Brighton Early Music Festival which provided early support to ensembles including The Marian Consort, Spiritato, Palisander and Fieri Consort, now regular names on the UK and international touring circuits.

Clare’s work with Early Music Live! has been recognised as sector-leading in the classical music world and has led to her leading training sessions for young artists about securing work at Handel House, Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music & Drama and for the National Centre for Early MusicOUR

Stroud Green Festival has a track record in supporting young artists. Last year for example we helped 3 young singers and the group Ensemble Moliere secure Arts Council funding and trial their new production, complete with digital animation, of Rameau’s Pygmalion (pictured).

Pygmalion

Pygmalion put Ensemble Moliere on the map, as we secured them their first BBC Radio 3 broadcast on In Tune and invited other promoters.
