COMPETITION & MENTORING FOR MUSICIANS

Stroud Green Festival’s Ensembles

A new annual competition for ensembles: up to 3 ensembles benefit from a year mentoring & at least one engagement in the Festival as a resident ensemble.

SUMMARY

The Final round competition will open to the public and take place on 7 June on the opening night of Stroud Green Festival 2018. At least one ensemble (possibly up to 3 ensembles) will be selected and will:

  • benefit from an engagement of £300 per individual performer in Stroud Green Festival 2019 (eg £1200 for a quartet). Our theme for 2019 is women performers and composers so we would ideally expect your ideas to contribute to that theme.
  • receive a year of mentoring and support: objectives will be agreed in the early mentoring sessions but might include helping an ensemble identify challenges, develop a new cross-art-form programme, secure engagements with other promoters, write a business plan, apply for funding, secure radio broadcast and press coverage.
